I’m a Junior Research Fellow at University College, Oxford, researching visions of queer futures in Russian speculative fiction. My research draws on queer and trans theory, literary studies, film studies, digital media, and historical methods.
I received my DPhil in Modern Languages from Wadham College, Oxford, in 2025. My thesis explored the cultural history of bisexuality in Russia from 1993 to 2023. I worked with gay and lesbian periodicals, archived versions of early queer websites, film, music videos, novels, and poetry.
When I’m not doing research, I’m almost certainly playing or designing games. I was once a Game Guru in a board game cafe, and I published the area control game Theurgy (2022) with my partner.
